Qumran National Park

Descend into history at Qumran National Park, located below the dramatic cliffs overlooking the Dead Sea.  This UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts not only stunning desert landscapes but also the fascinating ruins of the ancient Essene community’s settlement, dating back to the Second Temple era some 2000 years ago.

Imagine daily life as you see the communal pool, cisterns, and scriptorium –  the very place where the famed Dead Sea Scrolls may have been copied. The on-site museum offers a glimpse into these incredible artifacts, with displays showcasing fragments and explaining their historical significance.

Amongst these natural caves is where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, offering a glimpse into the past, with a touch of mystery.
